How do you navigate the unimaginable—caring for your own child at the end of their life?

Join us for the National Palliative Care Week Lecture, where Heike Fabig and Richard Boele will share their deeply personal journey of supporting their two sons to die at home, six years apart. Through their story, they offer a heartfelt perspective on the challenges, choices, and profound moments that shaped their experience.

This special evening will be hosted by Jean Kittson, a renowned comedian, author, and advocate for ageing and health issues. She’ll guide a conversation that sheds light on the realities of home-based palliative care, the emotional and practical challenges families face, and the importance of compassionate support.

We’ll also hear from Dr Peter Allcroft, a leading palliative care specialist and Chair of Palliative Care Australia. With extensive experience in clinical research and patient care, Dr Allcroft will provide expert insights into palliative care models, particularly for those managing complex chronic conditions.
