Rachel Rusch is a palliative care social worker, educator, and researcher at Children’s Hospital Colorado and an Assistant Professor in Paediatric Palliative Medicine at the University of Colorado. She serves as Psychosocial Director for the Paediatric Palliative Medicine Team and is a founding member of The Palliative Story Exchange. 

With degrees in social work and child development, she trained through NYU’s Zelda Foster Program and the Harvard Interprofessional Palliative Care Fellowship. Drawing from her background in the performing arts, her work integrates storytelling, improvisation, and creative writing to enhance clinical communication. 

A Sojourns Scholar, her research explores the role of the Palliative Arts in healthcare transformation.
