Dr Richard Leiter is a palliative care physician, writer, and researcher at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, as well as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He directs the Adult Inpatient Palliative Care Consult Service and the Writing Core in the Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care.

With a background in medical humanities and bioethics, he writes about palliative care, ethics, and the emotional experience of the field. His work has been featured in The New York Times, The New England Journal of Medicine, STATNews, and other leading publications.
