I am a regionally based contemporary artist exploring conceptual work and themes such as emotion and the human experience. I enjoy creating artwork with a personal touch to share stories evoking memory and nostalgia through style and detailed graphite on paper works. I care deeply about my subjects; assortments of stuff collecting dust, beloved keepsakes and trinkets, items of daily life reflecting personal affairs and living things. My practice is influenced by lived experience and personal meaning is given by connecting through stories behind the work.

'Almost' is a reflection of the importance of gesture and expression. Drawn quickly and loosely, it represents being unfinished, imperfect and human as often things seem just that. Almost touching, a brief moment of reach. A series of rituals; a warm handshake upon greeting, a wave hello and goodbye. Holding hands with someone you love, holding tight to those remembered. Hands display emotions of happiness, love, anger, frustration and sadness. Extending someone a hand shows that you care.
