Artwork Description
Marson's Sea Urchin series is an innovative exploration of delicate ecosystems, acknowledging the cyclical nature of life. Traditionally seen as predators that disrupt fragile habitats, sea urchins are transformed in my work into contemporary artworks that honour their origins while sparking new dialogues. This transformation mirrors life's cyclical process, where endings signify new beginnings, and discarded elements find renewed purpose.
I specialise in working with remnants and artifacts, which acknowledge the past and stories across time. Matter never disappears; it transforms and moves through different states and forms. By engaging with these discards, I navigate complex themes of loss and transformation with sensitivity and depth. Through my art, I create space for contemplation, inviting viewers to explore the intricate connections between structure, function, and materiality.
