This painting is of my late husband Simon. He was an introvert with absolute conviction to do good for others. He was a quiet media lawyer with a DJ past, he loved quirky T-shirts and was an advocate for positive political change. The painting is based on the last photo taken of him before he passed away from pancreatic cancer.  It is not only about Simon having a quiet moment of reflection of what has been and what is to come but is also about my journey of grief and sorrow that I was not able to save my husband from death. On this day Simon got to hear his turntables in action for the last time.
