Artwork Description
When my Mum passed, just 22 days after a second cancer was discovered, Life became quiet in a way I'd never known. But even in silence, love remained.
I hadn't painted in 25 years not since high school, but during her treatment and end of life care at the Olivia Newton John cancer centre, I often walked the hallways surrounded by beautiful art on display.
Grief brought me back to art, but art helped me move through grief.
This painting Find me in the light was created after her passing.
It holds sorrow but also strength, It's about finding presence in absence and peace in memory.
The light in the painting shows no ending, The waves calm but fierce some distant and some so close
A reminder that even in the hardest moments there is warmth, guidance and something greater than pain.
Palliative care teaches us that life is more than its final days,
This piece reflects that love doesn't disappear, it transforms.
My painting is a message; she is not gone, She is in the light and when i need her most. Thats where i will find her walking her dog.
