Artwork Description
Grief It’s not just a portrait but a conversation between sorrow and resilience. This painting was born from my own experience of deep love and profound loss—the kind that changes you.

Grief portrays a man in a moment of stillness. The man’s face holds the weight of memory. His expression reflects the pain of absence, but also the strength it takes to carry that love forward. On the right, warmer tones and textured light begin to break through. I used impasto in that area to suggest sunlight—symbolising that even after loss, life continues.

Painted in acrylic on canvas, this work focuses on emotional depth through texture, subtle light, and expression. It reflects not only the pain of losing someone deeply loved, but also the quiet presence of hope that lingers beyond goodbye.
This piece is part of my journey of healing and finding meaning through art and reflects on what it means to love, to lose, and to live on. It speaks to the quiet moments of end-of-life—the memories held, the silence after goodbye, and the light that still remains.

Grief doesn’t silence love. It reminds us of its depth and helps us find the light again.
